about my art

I love collage

I give away my art as gifts all the time, thus why I only have two up right now, lol. I might ask to borrow my works again to scan and upload them, but some people I've given work to I just don't talk to anymore.

I grew up in a little bit of a horder house. It wasn't awful, but my family kept more things more often then they should've. One thing they kept a lot of, was magazines.
So when I got into art at a young age, and I couldn't make the people I drew look like people, I'd cut out girls from fashion magazines to make the characters I saw in my head (which looked as terrifying as you're imagining). In middle school, my mom gave me her collection of National Geographics, that she'd aquired in her childhood, from about 1982 to 1994. This really blast off my love of cutting out cool pictures and pasting them together. Even when I've not done phsyical art, I've made digital collages, via webbrowser editers and apps like polyvore (rip). I've gone through so many styles, including cutting my own drawings and putting them on canvas with gouache, poorly printed images with acrylic and lots of glitter, and various phases involving watercolor and puffy-paint.

The images to the right are handmade by me, in what I guess you could call my current style, which are much more simple and oddly more personal.
